Hardscapes in Lacey, WA
Patios, walkways and retaining walls for Lacey yards, from new builds in Hawks Prairie to lake lots on Hicks, Pattison and Long Lakes.
What's different about Lacey hardscapes
- Outwash soil. Much of Lacey sits on glacial outwash. It drains fast and compacts well under a patio base.
- Stormwater rules. Lacey maps Category I aquifer recharge areas and requires site checks before stormwater is soaked into the ground. Where your patio's water goes matters.
- HOA review. In Hawks Prairie, Edgewater, Jubilee and Horizon Pointe, new hardscapes often need association sign-off. We'll give you a plan to submit.
- Small new-build lots. Lots in newer areas can run around 4,500 to 7,000 square feet. Side-yard walkways and compact patios make the most of them.
- Lake lots. Hicks, Pattison and Long Lakes are glacial kettle lakes. Yards drop toward the water, and shoreline work can bring extra rules.
- Older rockeries. In Tanglewilde, rockery beds from earlier decades are part of the look and need upkeep.

Lacey hardscape FAQ
Does my HOA need to approve a patio or wall?
Often, yes. Check your association's rules. We'll give you a plan you can submit.
Is Lacey soil good for a patio?
Usually. Glacial outwash drains fast and compacts well under a patio base. We still check where the water will go.
Do you build walls on lakefront lots?
We'll look at the lot first. Shoreline work can bring extra rules, and we'll walk you through what applies.
Can you work on an old rockery?
Yes. We can clean it up, or talk about rebuilding if it's failing.
Can the patio, walls and lighting be one project?
Yes. Your patio, walkways, walls, lighting and water features can be designed as one plan.
What's the process?
A free on-site assessment, a design, a clear estimate, then the install.
