- River and lahar zones. Parts of the valley floor sit in the Puyallup River floodplain, and areas like Shaw Road fall in mapped lahar hazard zones. We check current maps before big grading work.

My Gig Harbor lot is on a bluff. Can you build a wall?
We'll look at it first. Steep marine bluffs can be unstable, and some need an engineer and permits. We'll tell you plainly what the slope calls for.
Why is my South Hill yard always soggy?
South Hill is mostly glacial till. Water sits on top of it instead of draining down. Grading and drainage give it a path out.
Do steep Gig Harbor driveways get icy?
Around Rosedale and Wollochet, frost makes a steep drive slick fast. We de-ice and do light snow plowing to keep it passable.
