- Gravelly prairie soil. Yelm's prairie ground is glacial outwash. Soils like the Nisqually and Spanaway series drain fast, which means patios set well but lawns brown out quickly in summer.
- Big lots, long runs. Rural and semi-rural lots mean long fence lines, long irrigation runs and a lot of grass to keep up.
- Planned communities. Tahoma Terra is a master-planned community. Nisqually Pines (825 parcels) and gated Clearwood (about 1,355 lots) are HOA communities with their own rules and water systems.

Yes. Yelm is part of our Thurston County service area.
Why does my Yelm lawn dry out so fast?
Prairie outwash soil is sandy and gravelly. Water runs straight through it. A good irrigation layout, sized to the lot, helps.
I'm in Clearwood or Nisqually Pines. Can you work with my HOA?
Yes. Send us your community's guidelines, or we'll ask for them, and we'll plan the project to fit before anything gets built.
Can you clean up after a windstorm?
Yes. We clear branches, limbs and storm debris and haul it all away.
Can you plow my long driveway?
For light snow, yes. We do light snow plowing and de-icing. Big snow events are beyond what we take on.
